2011 STAR - Spin Off and Fiber Arts Competition
You may enter several divisions according to your expertise and age. The more entries received the more money the winners earn. Weave, knit, crochet or felt alpaca fibers or blends into fantastic art or wearables. Midge Jackson, a recognized fiber artist for many years, will judge your entries. Mail your entries in by October 10th or bring them to Kid 'N Ewe by 8 AM Friday morning. All entries must feature alpaca fiber.
STAR is paying premiums in our Spin-Off Competition, too! Send your two-ounce samples to our Spin-Off Coordinator, Donna Lamarche, at the address listed on the entry form. All entries must be postmarked by October 1st to be eligible for expert spinning and assessment by our qualified judges.
The spin off competition is a wonderful opportunity to have your prized fleece transformed into a hand-spun sample; to learn about the attributes the spinner values for preparation and spinning and the final assessment of the resulting hand spun yarn.
